Terms of Service

1. Use of the App

LingoCam helps you learn new vocabulary in foreign languages by taking or uploading pictures of real-world objects, identifying them, and creating personalized vocabulary flashcards. You can collect, review, and practice your vocabulary using the features of the App.

2. Accounts and Authentication

To use LingoCam, you must sign in using Sign in with Apple. We do not store your password. Depending on your Apple account settings, we may receive your name and email address.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the app.

3. Data Usage

We store:

• Your vocabulary progress and performance (e.g., accuracy, practice history)
• Metadata related to your learning activity

We do not store the original images you take or upload. Images are temporarily passed to OpenAI's image detection service for object recognition and discarded afterward.

4. Third-Party Services

LingoCam integrates with external services including:

• OpenAI for image recognition and AI-generated image creation

By using the app, you agree to OpenAI's terms of service as they apply to these specific features.

5. Free and Paid Features

LingoCam is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future. If we do, we'll clearly communicate any changes and require your agreement before charging you.

6. User Content

You are responsible for any content you upload, submit, or interact with inside the app. You agree not to misuse the app, reverse engineer it, or use it in a way that could harm others or the service itself.

7. Account Deletion and Data Removal

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app for violations of these Terms or if required by law.

9. Disclaimers

LingoCam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of translations or detection, and we are not liable for any learning outcomes or data loss.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app or through other means. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised terms.
