Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the LingoCam mobile application ("App"). By using LingoCam, you agree to this policy.

a. Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we may receive:
- Your name (optional, if shared)
- Your email address (optional, if shared)
We do not store your Apple password.
b. Usage Data
We collect data about your app usage to support the core learning features. This includes:
- Words you add to your vocabulary library
- Practice history (e.g., accuracy, timestamps)
- Time-based metadata (e.g., when a word was added or practiced)
c. Image Data
When you capture or upload an image:
- The image is sent directly to OpenAI's image detection service for processing.
- The original image is not stored by us.
- The result (detected object name, language info) is stored in your user data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide core app functionality (e.g., vocabulary tracking and practice)
- Personalize your learning experience
- Improve app performance and reliability
We do not use your data for advertising, nor do we sell it to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
We use:
- Apple for Sign In authentication
- OpenAI for image recognition and image generation
These services may receive data relevant to the feature you're using. For example, OpenAI receives images solely for the purpose of object recognition.

4. Data Retention
We retain:
- Your account and vocabulary-related data as long as your account is active.
- No image files are stored permanently.
You can delete all your data at any time (see Section 6).

We implement standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage and secure API communication. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
6. Your Rights and Choices
a. Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
b. Access and Correction
If you would like to request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it, contact us at support@lingocam.app.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. You'll be notified in the app if we make significant changes. Your continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
